Taking a personal leave

The Academic Achievement team supports students in a variety of ways, including but not limited to, advisement of first year students, still deciding students, transfer students and student-athletes. Professional staff are available for in-person meetings or virtually by email request. All students are welcome to drop-in to the office for any general questions.

A Success Coach is a professional staff member who assists students with any academic concerns and connects them with helpful campus resources. Success coaches guide incoming first year students in creating their first semester schedule, serve as a mentor for students who are on academic probation as part of their academic recovery plan, address student concerns submitted by faculty/staff, and assist with time management/study skills. Students have been assigned success coaches based upon engagement in particular programs/involvement on campus or by college/school. If students are not in one of the specialized engagement groups, students are assigned by college/school.

The Counseling Center offers confidential counseling services by a staff of licensed mental health counselors. Both in-person and tele-counseling services are available for Canisius students.

Visit the Counseling Center website to schedule an appointment. In-person and Virtual Drop-In Hours are available from 3pm-4pm daily without an appointment.

For emergencies after hours, please utilize Telus Health to get in contact with one of their on-call counselors 24/7.

Staffed by physicians and registered nurses, Student Health offers services that are easy to access, individualized and targeted to treating illnesses and injuries common to college students. The Student Health Center provides on-campus health care to all students throughout the academic year Monday through Friday on days when undergraduate classes are in session.
