The Department of Public Safety is established to protect and serve the educational environment of Canisius University, protecting the campus and the surrounding neighborhood from the threat of physical harm, property damage and disruptive activity. We continuously strive to build and maintain a high level of cooperation between the campus community, the neighborhood surrounding the campus and the Department.

Staffed by physicians and registered nurses, Student Health offers services that are easy to access, individualized and targeted to treating illnesses and injuries common to college students. The Student Health Center provides on-campus health care to all students throughout the academic year Monday through Friday on days when undergraduate classes are in session. The Counseling Center offers confidential counseling services by a staff of licensed mental health counselors. Both in-person and tele-counseling services are available for Canisius students.

Visit the Counseling Center website to schedule an appointment. In-person and Virtual Drop-In Hours are available from 3pm-4pm daily without an appointment.

For emergencies after hours, please utilize Telus Health to get in contact with one of their on-call counselors 24/7.

Title IX protects students against sexual and gender-based misconduct. Students may report incidents of such misconduct to the Title IX office and/or begin the conversation to learn about their options.
