The Counseling Center offers confidential counseling services by a staff of licensed mental health counselors. Both in-person and tele-counseling services are available for Canisius students.

Visit the Counseling Center website to schedule an appointment. In-person and Virtual Drop-In Hours are available from 3pm-4pm daily without an appointment.

For emergencies after hours, please utilize Telus Health to get in contact with one of their on-call counselors 24/7.

Getting involved at Canisius College is your gateway to success! In and outside of the classroom events, campus activities, and leadership development all help shape a complete college experience. The Center for Student Engagement and Leadership Development directs the creation and implementation of student clubs and organizations on campus. The office also provides resources and events for student leadership development.

ALANA provides African American, Latinx American, Asian American and Native American (ALANA) students with various services that help students to succeed at Canisius and after they graduate. We strive towards the campus community goals of fostering, respecting, and exploring cultural differences. We assist the college in enhancing services for ALANA student communities, and we introduce the entire student population to issues involving cross-cultural patterns, participation in the life of the college, and self-concept concerns. While most services provided are co-curricular, we also serve as a referral and support unit regarding academic, financial, personal, and social matters.

Student Accessibility Services (SAS) is committed to creating equal access for all Canisius students with disabilities, permanent or temporary. Our mission is to see that no student is excluded or discriminated against in participating in any campus program, function or activity, while maintaining the highest level of academic integrity. We advocate responsibility for an accessible and holistic learning environment, through removal of informational, physical, and attitudinal barriers.

A Success Coach is a professional staff member who assists students with any academic concerns and connects them with helpful campus resources. Success coaches guide incoming first year students in creating their first semester schedule, serve as a mentor for students who are on academic probation as part of their academic recovery plan, address student concerns submitted by faculty/staff, and assist with time management/study skills. Students have been assigned success coaches based upon engagement in particular programs/involvement on campus or by college/school. If students are not in one of the specialized engagement groups, students are assigned by college/school.

The Office of Campus Ministry at Canisius University strives to help students find, share, and reflect on where they see God in their lives through personal prayer, vibrant liturgies, and retreats. We walk with students as they explore the connections between faith and justice through volunteering and service-immersion experiences. We are committed building community and welcome students of all faith traditions.
